Why The Peace Corps?

Many people have asked me why I joined the Peace Corps? This is a difficult question to answer. There is no one reason why I chose this path in life. I could have chosen the typical “American Dream” of a 9 to 5 job, a wife and kids, and a mortgage. That’s just not what I want out of life at this time. I want to do my part to help others while at the same time helping myself. I feel that the Peace Corps will forever change my life as it has for countless others. The Peace Corps also provides many benefits after service such as a no cost MBA at Northern Arizona State University which I plan to take advantage of after my time with the Peace Corps.
